LETTER OF SUPPORT

I support the need for careful, evidence‑based and place‑specific planning when considering large‑scale renewable energy infrastructure across regional Victoria. While renewable energy is essential to our state’s transition to a low‑carbon future, it is equally important that this transition protects highly productive agricultural land, regional communities, and long‑term food security.

The Dookie and Goulburn Valley region is an area of significant agricultural value, supporting important food production, research, and long‑established farming enterprises. Decisions regarding large‑scale infrastructure within this landscape must be informed by proper cultural, agricultural, environmental and hydrological assessment, alongside meaningful consultation with landholders, Traditional Owners and the broader community.

Responsible, well‑planned renewable energy development should strengthen regional livelihoods—not place them at risk. Careful consideration of suitable, lower‑impact locations is essential to achieving this balance.
